Established in 1975, Stree Mukti Sanghatana (SMS) has been working towards empowering women for over four decades. The Family Counselling Centres, supported by MFE, is one such area of the organisation which deals with counselling, aiding and guiding women who walk in for help related to all forms of domestic abuse. The main aim of the counselling centre is to provide relief to families in distress. They impact over 500 families annually.
MFE Supported Programs:
The MFE supported Compassionate Care Program (CCP) has been implemented in 4 government hospitals in Maharashtra including Shri Vasantrao Naik Government Medical College & Hospital, Yavatmal, Byramjee Jeejeebhoy Medical College & Sassoon General Hospital, Pune, The Grant Government Medical College, Mumbai, ndira Gandhi Government Medical College & Hospital, Nagpur. The program aims to engage family members by training them in basic medical skills that have the highest impact for improving a patient’s recovery. CCP operates on the philosophy of educating and empowering people to be agents of their own health and wellbeing.The program was launched by conducting Training of Trainers Workshop across the 4 government hospitals.
